Look, Listen, Love
Look, Listen, Love is a collection of props, studies, fan art, and fantasies that queer the relationship between the iconic Flying Scotsman steam locomotive and her first caretaker, Alan Pegler. The collection includes a 14-foot-long articulating picture stand-in painted in Scotsman’s likeness, an Alan Pegler mask, a video installation of Pegler and Scotsman singing Michael Hudecki’s song “Boxcars” together in a duet, and a pencil crayon drawing of Pegler and Scotsman.
Images are from a presentation in Zavitz Gallery at the University of Guelph for an MFA critique. This collection is an obvious precursor to my play A Tender Engine.
